Daniel Almada is an Argentinian musician born in Oxford (UK) and living in Switzerland since 1990, who works since 1988 as independent composer, performer and Sound Designer. The variety of his work covers numerous compositions from Live-Electronics to compositions for Film , Modern Dance and crossover popular music.

In 1990 he decided to move to Switzerland, and became a composition degree at the Special Class for Electronic Music on the Music Academy of Basel.

In 1992 Daniel received the award of promotion for contemporary composition by the Swiss Volksbank Basel.

He composed among other pieces , «Carpe Diem» for String Quartet and Live-Electronics on behalf of the Music Credit Commission of Basel City , «Ira» came into being on its first opening night by the Trio Grumieux for piano-trio and tape on the festival «Tage für Live-Elektronische Musik Basel 1997 , «Inertia» found recognition by the «Pro Helvetia» cultural foundation board, etc.

He wrote the soundtrack and realize the sound design of several Cinema-Documentary Movies like : „Die Frau mit den 5 Elefanten“ from Vadim Jendreyko – Quartz 2010 – Besten Schweizer Dokumentarfilm  , «4 de Julio, la masacre de San Patricio“ Argentine Cinema Doc, 2 Cóndor de Plata (best Documentary and best Play 2008) „Signis Preis 2008“ , » Garten der Klänge“ Nicola Belluci/First Price at 45. Solothurner Filmtage «Prix de Soleure» , “Die Kinder vom Napf” from Alice Schmidt /Award der Provinz Verona, Filmfestival della Lessinia 2012- Nomination for Gläsernen Bären Berlinale 2012 , “Where the Condors Fly” from Carlos Klein / Best Film Chilean Cinema and Audience Award VTR, FIC Valdivia (CL) , etc.

Daniel Almada founded in 2003 together with Martin Iannaccone the group “Tango Crash” which received in2004 the award “ Ruth Deutsche Weltmusikpreis : Newcomer „ And in 2008 for the production „Bailá Querida“ the „Preis der Deutsche Schallplattenkritik“. They performed around 200 concerts worldwide.
